Massimo: "There's no place for them"
His mother: "What are you hiding, what have you got in it?"
Massimo: "No, it's full, it's full", he moves his shirts off the case, grips it with both hands and struggles with its weight as he moves it from the bed to the floor.
His mother: "What's in the case, why is it so heavy, what's in the case?"
Massimo: "Nothing"
His mother: "Don't be ridiculous, show me, what's in the case?", she approaches the case and he stands in front of it, "Don't be ridiculous, you , eh, pffff.... move"
Massimo: "Promise you won't take them from me"
His mother: "Promise not to take what from you?"
Massimo: "Promise"
His mother: "Promise what? If it's something that doesn't belong to you then I'm not going to promise"
Massimo is assured by his mother's response, he knows now that unless it's something that belongs to somebody else then she'll keep to her word.
She lifts the case and puts it on the bed, "Why is this so heavy, what have you got it here?"
Massimo says nothing, lets his mother open the case. She opens the case, then looks at him.
Massimo: "You promised"
His mother: "What are all these stones doing here?"
Massimo: "You promised"
She sits on the bed and then puts her hand on his left shoulder, "Massimo, tell me, what are these stones doing here? You want to take stones all the way to Greece?"
Massimo: "Yes"
His mother: "Massimo, they have stones over there"
Massimo: "Yeah, but these are the ones that me and Marco play with every day"
His mother: "You'll make other friends over there"
Massimo: "There won't be Marco there"
His mother: "... there'll be others, I promise you, you'll make other friends"
Massimo: "... come on, you promised"
His mother: "Yeah, but stones?"
